As part of Project Sunkalp, a cancer screening camp was conducted at Kavathur E-Sevai Center, Madurantakam, bringing essential cancer screening services closer to the local community.
A total of 44 beneficiaries came forward for screening, including 9 men and 35 women.
The camp provided:
• 32 iBreast Examinations
• 44 Oral Examinations
• 2 Pap Smear Tests
Cancer may not always show noticeable warning signs in its early stages. Regular screening can help identify suspicious changes early and encourage timely medical consultation and follow-up.
For many people in rural communities, accessing specialised healthcare can be difficult because of distance, cost, time, or limited awareness. Project Sunkalp is working to bridge this gap by bringing cancer screening services closer to people through community-based camps.
Every person who comes forward for screening is taking an important step towards understanding and protecting their health. These camps also create opportunities to spread awareness about cancer prevention, early detection, healthy lifestyle choices, and the importance of timely medical attention.
Through Project Sunkalp, Kalpavriksham Trust continues to work with local communities, healthcare professionals, PHCs, and CSR partners to expand access to cancer screening across Madurantakam.
